Happy Halloween – “Mrs. Carol’s Driving Lesson”

A mother traverses a gentlemen’s club. “Mrs. Carol’s Driving Lesson” a short story now on Substack.

A Jeep behind us flashes its lights. I start for the turn, but the Jeep whirs around and lets me know I should shove my glasses into my body part that give birth to my children. I will pray for him this Sunday. I check my speed, which is too slow for vehicles honking and flashing their lights. I signal for the exit with all the trees and unkempt grass and rundown businesses and houses. 500 Yards Until Good Clean Fun says one sign poking out from weeds and wildflowers. Another says Quit Groping For Fun & Climb On above two humps that remind me of my sister’s Save the Ta-Tas breast-cancer shirt.
